Richard's Story
Richard Buss is a British creative film editor. He has spent over 50 years working in film and television making everything from documentaries, drama, entertainment, comedy and sports to on-air promotions, music videos and commercials.
Richard started as a film editor at the BBC in 1982 and re-trained as a video editor using high end vision mixers and digital effects.
After joining ITV he moved into the non-linear world of Lightworks and Avid. Over the last 25 years he has cut films for all the main productions companies and broadcasters in the UK plus Discovery Channel and National Geographic in the USA.
Richard is a creative, intuitive and dedicated editor providing the producer with a well-balanced view on that works well for a project.
With a solid grounding from his BBC days, Richard can quickly spot a good story and tease it out of the rushes in a creative way. Couple that with a wealth of experience using archive material, working closely with graphic artists and music composers, he produces highly informative and entertaining films.
There are awards from across the globe on Richard’s shelf including the New York Film Festival, London and Chicago Promax, British Design Awards, as well as BAFTA nominations and several Royal Television Society awards.
