Bwira Ndoole
Assistant Expedition Leader
Bwira's Story
Bwira’s extensive leadership skills are informed by his military experience in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the country of his birth.

Bwira will be supporting the expedition team in the search to find the Bristol Blenheim aircraft in Chad and the burial place of the pilot who lost his life in the crash.

He will be Assistant Lead Support for the ground crew of engineers who will be looking after Spitfire Josephine on her historic attempt to fly the Takoradi Run.
In 2014 he became a popular figure on British TV when he featured in the Channel 4 documentary series Walking The Nile. The documentary followed English explorer Levison Wood during his attempt to walk the length of the river Nile from source to sea. Bwira accompanied Levison from Rwanda to South Sudan. He acquired the nickname ‘Boston’ during his time filming with Levison and his team.

Bwira also played an important supporting role in Congo:The Grand Inga Project, a documentary which captured Steve Fisher, Ben Marr, Rush Sturges and Tyler Bradt’s successful kayaking descent of the world’s biggest rapids, the notorious Inga Rapids on the Congo River.

He currently lives in the Netherlands with his wife and children, but frequently returns to the Democratic Republic of Congo in his professional capacity as a guide.
